Truck Simulator free update 1.43 is open beta, with proprietary dumpers
The next major update for American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 is coming quickly – so fast, in fact, that it’s already here in beta form. Open Beta 1.43 is now available in both truck games, giving you the chance to test out the new features while they are still a bit buggy. Here’s what to expect.
Both games receive proprietary dumpers. (Or “dump trailers,” as every trucker I’ve known has called them.) In ATS, you’ll have access to end dumpers, dynamic floor dumpers, and side dumpers, and the latter will be available. in B-double, toll motorway and single configurations. In ETS2 you can choose between aluminum and steel bodies, short or long lengths, and two or three axles.
You’ll also see – or rather hear – an updated interior sound in both games, which should give us a more realistic sound simulation when driving in first person. A font update will also ensure that all text on the screen is crisp at every resolution.
Beyond updates for both games, ETS2 receives most of the individual changes. Lyon is getting a makeover with a new layout, including new roads and landmarks, and some general visual improvements. Tolls are also undergoing a smooth rebalancing, although not everyone is affected in this update.
New viewpoints and special transport routes, as well as new Iberian routes, will also be added to ETS2, but we have already looked at them in more detail in the past.
You can play either beta version by going to the game’s properties on Steam, clicking the beta tab, and opting for the public beta for 1.43. If you don’t see it, just restart Steam.
