The Four Rivers Ultimate boys’ team qualified for the state championship game on Friday.
Facing No.2 Newton North on the road in the semifinals, the Otters were off to a 15-7 victory.
âOur team has always been strong up front,â said Four Rivers coach Terry Plotkin. “Today our defense got stronger and played a solid game.”
Aidan DeLorenzo and Gabe Rhodes stopped Newton managers while Sully Schnoor distributed seven assists for the Otters.
Four Rivers will face Lexington in the State Finals Monday at 3:30 p.m. in Lexington.
Border youth
Aiden Winn netted a brace and had three RBIs as Ben Baker hit it safe to help VFW to a 7-1 win over Pekarski’s Sausage in a Frontier Youth baseball game on Friday at Herlihy Field.
Winn and Konnor James pitched well for VFW in the win.
Herny Drinker, Uriah Jenness, and Joey Hutkoski have all had success for Pekarski’s.
Griffin Casey, Kolton Punska and Nick Constantine each recorded a hit for Wilcox.
GGSL
Kiara Gruszkowski and Emma Petterson each had three hits while Emmy Nash, Cayleigh Aldrich and Rylie Dyer all hit to lead Pelletier Electric to a 9-8 victory over Descavich Plumbing in a ponytail contest on Friday. .
Meghan Collins had two hits while Ameiya Galbraith, Bailey Cusson, Ella Rotkiewicz and Haddie Connelley each had one hit for Descavich.
Crumpin-Fox
Ray Demartino hit an ace at the Crumpin-Fox Club on Friday.
Demartino hit his hole in one shot on hole 11, coming from 127 yards. He used a pitching wedge, with the shot seen by Michele Burch, Jay Anctil and Brendan Creagh.
Thomas Memorial
Andy Wyngowski finished with a hole-in-one to win the closest to the pin on hole # 9 on Tuesday in the Matt’s Men’s League at Thomas Memorial.
The shot came from 149 yards, with Wyngowski using an 8 iron. It was his first hole and one in his career with Wayne Degrenier and Bob White.
Fred Llewelyn shot the low gross score of 37 while Alfie Mitchell had the low net score of 30 on the week. Don Mailloux finished with the closest to the pin on number 7 (four feet, three inches).
Mitchell and John Passiglia both have 5.5 points this week, the most in the league.
