CBDT notify JSON schema for ITR-7
The Central Direct Tax Commission (CBDT) has notified the JSON schema for ITR-7 filing.
The Department of Income Tax has provided free tax preparation software in the download page that fully complies with data quality requirements. However, some commercially available software or websites also offer returns preparation functionality. In order to ensure the data quality of RTIs prepared using such commercially available software, various types of validation rules are deployed on the e-Filing portal, so that the uploaded data is accurate and complies with the rules of largely extensive validation. Taxpayers are advised to review these validation rules to ensure that the software they use complies with these requirements, in order to avoid rejection of the return due to poor data quality or errors. in the statement.
Software vendors are strictly advised to follow these rules to avoid inconvenience to taxpayers who may use their software. Software vendors may note that these validation rules will be strictly monitored and enforced and each rule must be strictly adhered to. In the event of a violation, the affected tax preparation utility/software may be blacklisted without notice and such blacklist will be posted on the e-filing site. No returns using blacklisted software will be permitted to be uploaded until such time as the software vendor is able to provide details of the fix in the software. This can lead to avoidable inconvenience for taxpayers and loss of reputation for software vendors for which the income tax department will not be liable.
