Bloodborne gets fan-made demake on PC next year

While there are several Dark Souls games to choose from on PC, Bloodborne is something we haven’t seen on our fair platform yet. Fans have stepped in to fill the void here and there, like a fan-made project called Yarntown, which reinvents Bloodborne with a Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past vibe. Now, however, fans are creating something a little more faithful to the original.
Bloodborne PSX is a demake of the popular game, re-visualized as if it was released for the original PlayStation. It’s been in the works for some time, but the developers behind the project have revealed that they plan to release the project as free software on January 31, 2022.
The developers behind the project explain on Discord that it won’t be a demake of the entire game – they aim to cover up to the fight against Gascoigne, but there is a chance the game will extend to Viccar Amelia. One developer further explains that the map, mechanics, and dialogue will be a bit different from what you’re used to. “Think of it as a PS1-style remix or a reimagining of the early areas of Bloodborne,” they say.
A team member also spoke about the legality of the project, explaining that a cease and desist request from Sony or FromSoftware “would effectively mean the cancellation of BloodbornePSX.” As always, it should be noted that the demake is not officially approved by the original studio.
