Saints report: Gusties walks away to beat Saints in MIAC men’s basketball – Reuters

ST. PETER, Minn. — Kaleb Feahn had 22 points and five rebounds to lead Gustavus to a 78-67 win over St. Scholastica in MIAC Men’s Basketball Saturday before 1,257 on senior day in St. Peter.

Nolan Malo (14 points), Evan Wieker (12) and Peter Lundquist (11) also scored in double digits for the Gusties (12-7 overall, 9-5 MIAC), who took a 36-32 lead at half-time.

Esko’s Quinn Fischer had 15 points and five rebounds to lead the Saints (4-19, 2-16) while Cade Goggleye added 13 points and four assists.

Zach Sjoblad and Kevin Thomas had eight points apiece as CSS had a 26-10 advantage in bench points.

It was a clean game, with the Saints having just eight turnovers and the Gusties just five.

St. Scholastica returns home for an MIAC game at 7:45 p.m. on Monday, February 14 against Concordia-Moorhead.

The Gusties quickly start winning against the Saints

Emma Kniefel had 14 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead Gustavus to a 68-45 win over St. Scholastica in MIAC women’s action before 347 at St. Peter.

Morgan Kelly provided a spark with 13 points off the bench for the Gusties (17-4 overall, 15-3 MIAC), who led 33-21 at the break.

Miranda Broberg and Emma Schmidt had eight points apiece to lead the Saints (2-20, 2-18).

St. Scholastica continues MIAC action at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14 against Concordia-Moorhead at the Reif Gymnasium in Duluth.

St. Kate’s gets early win over Saints

Marie Reimer scored twice and St. Catherine took a 4-0 lead and then held on for a 6-3 win over St. Scholastica in MIAC Women’s Hockey before 126 at St. Paul.

Elizabeth Kubicek made 28 saves for St. Kate’s (7-14-1 overall, 3-11 MIAC).

Rachel Anderson scored twice for the Saints (11-7-2, 8-3-2) and Babbitt’s Lori Huseby made 24 saves for Ashlea Arvidson.

CSS returns home for an MIAC contest with Gustavus Adolphus at 7 p.m. Thursday at Mars Lakeview Arena in Duluth.
