My 10 Favorite Google Docs Addons for Teachers and Students
Over the years, I’ve played around with add-ons for Google Docs a lot, and thought EDU Week would be the perfect opportunity to share some of my favorites with all of you. The ones I have chosen are especially useful for teachers and students, although they can be used by anyone. Whether you’re making labels or envelopes, sharing creative pieces, writing screenplays, or whatever, I think you’ll find something for you below! These are just a small portion of the insane amount available on the Google Workspace Marketplace, and my opinion is going to be pretty narrow as I’m just one person, so be sure to check out everything on offer. I should also note that some or more of these may have an associated price or subscription cost, like with Smartsheet, for example. Make sure to check with your school or IT administrator if there are any bulk licenses or some sort of deal before you fork out your own money, or just look for free alternatives in the market!

Download useful templates like calendars, business cards, letters, cards, brochures, newsletters, resumes, etc. You can use any template you download as is, or you can customize it to meet your needs. To download and use a template, click the Create a Copy button and a new file will be created for you, using that template, all ready to be personalized with your information.

Adobe Creative Cloud
With Adobe Creative Cloud for Google Workspace, you can search Creative Cloud for the items you need, then attach link previews to synced files, libraries, and mobile creations right from Gmail. You can also save any attachments received in Gmail in Creative Cloud in a folder of your choice.
The latest version also lets you quickly access and use branded colors, character styles, and graphics stored in your Creative Cloud Libraries, right in Google Docs and Slides. work in your favorite Google Workspace apps.

Current features include changing all characters to upper or lower case, changing the first letter to uppercase, reversing the case of each character, capitalizing entire sentences and titles.

DocSecrets
DocSecrets hides and encrypts sensitive information such as passwords, patent ideas or other secrets. Using the DocSecrets sidebar, you can insert secrets into your document, displayed as highlighted text boxes. Given the correct passphrase, the sidebar displays all the secrets of your document. You can modify, reveal or delete your secrets. DocSecrets automatically tracks your cursor position and highlights the current secret.

This app offers basic script formatting functions (such as setting your indents for speakers and dialog box) linked to easy to use buttons. Each button will help you effortlessly switch between scenes and action, as well as speakers and dialogue. The scenario formatting tool also includes basic scene transitions to help save you time.
