FFXIV’s collection jobs change to inflate stocks
Your Final Fantasy XIV inventory is full. Chocobo bags? Full. Armory chest? Full. Holding stocks? Full. There is no escaping it. Once you’ve played FFXIV long enough, every inventory option you have will be filled to the brim. The devs are making a few changes to help fix this issue for Endwalker, so say goodbye to many types of HQ items.
Starting with patch 6.0 for Endwalker, you will no longer get HQ versions of gathered items, enemy drops, token exchange materials, and some non-craftable materials. (However, you will still be able to craft HQ items and collect HQ gear.) This naturally means that quests, challenges, and achievements will be adjusted for the new item distribution.
It also means that some actions and attributes will be adjusted for class gathering, as you won’t have to worry about collecting materials from HQ anymore. Instead, these actions will allow you to collect more of the relevant items. Anglers will have a “different setting” for these abilities to work, as the developers say in the recent live letter – it looks like they are still deciding what to do here, but it can affect the size of your catch.
We’ll learn more about these changes in the upcoming Live Letter on November 5, which will focus in more detail on what to expect from crafting and collecting in Endwalker.
Endwalker’s release date is set for November, so get your inventories ready.
