2023 Toyota Tacoma SR5 Gets Extended SX Package, New Chrome Pack
The Toyota Tacoma’s SR5 trim, which drops just above the base SR trim in the popular midsize truck pecking order, gets a few extra perks for 2023 in the form of two new packages. Called the SX package and the Chrome package, the additions offer a bit of extra panache without costing a fortune. In addition to these packages, the V-6 SR5 now features Smart Key operation (including the standard front passenger door) and a 10-way power driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar support.
The SX pack, already available on the SR version, has been extended to the SR5 grade. SX adds some visual interest through blacked-out trinkets: fender flares, trim, badging and side mirrors. Black 16-inch wheels with complementary lug nuts also replace the standard SR5 wheels. The SX kit is capped with a special bed graphic. Customers can get the SX package on two- and four-wheel-drive Tacoma Access Cabs or Double Cab SR5s with the optional 3.5-liter V6 engine.
The Chrome Package adds — you guessed it — splashes of chrome to the 2023 Toyota Tacoma SR5 Double Cab two- and four-wheel drive (also with V-6). The exterior door handles, exhaust tip and tailgate insert with “Tacoma” script are finished in chrome, and the large 18-inch wheels are polished alloy. Inside, there’s a leather-wrapped shift knob, which isn’t chrome but still looks nice.
Finally, as almost every year brings a funky new paint color option to the top-of-the-line, off-road-ready Tacoma TRD Pro, 2023 is no different. A bright orange tint called Solar Octane is the exclusive exterior color of the 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, joining White, Magnetic Gray Metallic and Black.
