Dir Agri Kashmir visits Anantnag and calls for CSS awareness – Kashmir Reader
Anantnag: Continuing the campaign to reach farmers in different districts of Kashmir, Kashmir Agriculture Division Director Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal paid an in-depth visit to Anantnag district and chaired a review meeting with officers and officials from the district.
On this occasion, the Director of Agriculture stressed that raising awareness of the various centrally funded programs and flagship programs among farmers is the key to the socio-economic development of the farming community. He said the Ministry is making every effort to form a knowledge-based farming community. Technology is undoubtedly playing a magnificent role in the agricultural sector, but the role of good awareness cannot be ruled out, he said.
On the sidelines of the visit, the director chaired a meeting of officers and heard their views and suggestions on the implementation of different programs and infrastructure needs in the district. Taking note of the suggestions, especially those relating to making agricultural tools and machinery available to farmers, the Director of Agriculture requested Director of Agriculture Anantnag to immediately submit a proposal for the purchase of machinery and equipment. other agricultural inputs on time.
The director of agriculture informed officials that the ministry had signed a memorandum of understanding with JKHPMC to facilitate the marketing of farmers’ surplus production. He also said that many more such MOUs are in sight for the benefit of farmers.
Later, Chowdhary visited different organic vegetable clusters, DCTC beekeeping, mushroom units and recently installed micro-irrigation structures and urged officers and officials to make all professional efforts and efforts to make the glamorous, remunerative and profitable agricultural sector. He instructed officers and officers to maintain close contact with farmers and educate them on the latest technological interventions in their field of interest so that the significant impacts of agricultural activities are exploited.
Besides others, the director of agriculture was accompanied by the deputy director of agricultural farms, spices and medicinal plants, Kounser Parween, and the deputy director of law enforcement in Kashmir, Mohammad Younis Chowdhary.
